PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Kazumi Izakaya & Speakeasy Bar is a unique fusion of refined Japanese craftsmanship, cinematic ambiance, and contemporary luxury. The venue features 75 seats in the dining area and 20 in the speakeasy bar. This interior design concept blends the intimate and energetic spirit of a traditional Japanese izakaya with the exclusivity and mystery of a hidden speakeasy. The design is inspired by the warm glow of lanterns, rich wood textures, and layered materials, creating a timeless, moody, and indulgent atmosphere. Upon entering, guests are greeted by a dramatic interplay of shadow and light that accentuates the textures of charcoal-colored wood, glazed ceramic tiles, an existing brick wall, and walnut cabinetry. The environment evokes the authenticity of a Japanese drinking house, elevated with luxurious finishes and boutique hospitality details. The izakaya dining hall features long runs of banquette seating upholstered in olive tones. There is a framed wood-grid feature wall, adorned with warm backlighting and layered textures, or shoji-style translucent panels. Soft paper lantern pendants provide pockets of warm illumination, complementing the brick and smoked wood wall surfaces. This creates an industrial yet refined character, with tables arranged closely to emulate a lively Tokyo atmosphere while maintaining a sense of premium comfort. In the speakeasy bar, the rear hidden bar area showcases a concealed apothecary aesthetic, featuring drawers inspired by Chinese medicine cabinets that seamlessly integrate with the bottle display. The walnut wood paneling, with its vertical grain, adds a luxurious depth to the space. A glowing arched bar niche, highlighted by warm LED cove lighting, showcases rare spirits. Red vertical ceramic tiles serve as a dramatic visual anchor, infusing bold modern Japanese fair, while dark stone or black marble bar tops reinforce a high-end material palette
